Men's Ministry

I want to give a quick overview of my philosophy for Men’s Ministry.

I believe that an effective men’s ministry will empower men to become fully devoted followers of Christ who are actively participating in the mission of the church.

In other words, our men’s ministry wins when a man steps up to serve in Ops; or when a man starts a house church, or serves in children’s ministry, etc. This is a different target than basing the success of our men’s ministry on how many guys show up to a men’s event. See, men’s ministry should mobilize men to be fully engaged members of the local church and not sideline them with collection of its own ministries and activities.

With that said, we are going to keep the strategy simple:

Events will be a part of the Men’s Ministry. They will serve as a strategic way to REACH out to new guys and CONNECT the men together. The next scheduled men’s event is our annual Thanksgiving day flag football game. There's more on the way… stay tuned…

The One-on-One discipleship that we learned about at this conference will also be a part of the Men’s ministry. It will serve as a strategic way to lead men to Grow in their relationship with Jesus. This won’t replace involvement in a House Church, rather the One-on-One groups will be a next step for guys who want to get serious about discipleship.
