Three DON'Ts when Declaring

1. Don’t ask people to, “Come to my event.” As if, they are doing you a favor if they show up. This communicates that the event is about you or about the number of people you can get to show up. Always focus on the person you are inviting and communicate the event as a viable next step in their spiritual journey.
2. Don’t promote events by using inside information. This communicates that there is an ‘IN’ crowd. If someone doesn’t know the story or the joke, they immediately feel left ‘OUT’. Always use inclusive language. Focus your communication on the people that you don’t know – how would you invite them to the event?
3. Don’t forget your vision. Sometimes we can get so excited about an event that we forget to communicate the big picture. People want to know that there is an end in mind. They will be more likely to attend your event if it also serves as a next step in their journey to connect with others, or their personal spiritual journey. The big picture is important – declare it!
