Your job as a leader is to tend to the nuts and bolts of your ministry; to get the job done on a regular basis, with excellence. This responsibility alone can be overwhelming. However, there is another level to your leadership where I want to challenge you. That is, providing spiritual care to your team members.
This week’s lesson is on individually praying for your team members. I’m not talking about a generic prayer – when you are alone. I’m talking about stopping one of your team members, looking them in their eyes and asking, “How can I pray for you.” Then, following through – right then and there, by praying specifically for them. This month, let’s focus on caring for our team members. Our first stop is showing concern for them, as an individual, and praying for them.
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
